It’s hard to talk about the Art of Dream Interpretation if you are not a professional who has studied this method for some time. If that’s the case, you may be asking yourself how on earth can anyone teach you all that you need to know about this fascinating subject. The truth is that this is not a subject that is taught in conventional schools and universities, but is more commonly approached from an “enlightened” perspective – that is, from a subjective point of view. In other words, those who teach this method have had personal experiences which have coloured their understanding of what really happens when the eyes of the beholder are opened.
This type of approach is also known as “The Dream Interpretation Society” and is currently led by Pat Brister. You will have a very interesting time learning what this organisation offers. Pat has spent her entire life researching and studying the phenomenon of dream interpretation. There are several interesting publications and articles available on the internet that will help you gain a deeper insight into the nature of your own dreams. The most important thing about this is that it isn’t just a dream…it’s a work of art.
It’s a bit like painting or drawing. We may recognise shapes or general themes from our own experience and then develop a relationship with these images. With the assistance of Pat Brister, we may then be able to interpret the meaning and symbolism of the images that enter our dreams. Some of the symbols that she has identified and worked on are:
In my own investigations, I discovered that the world is populated by over two hundred billion cubic feet of water! That is a very large amount of water! Interestingly, most of us are unaware of how much symbolic value there is in the ocean, and how we interpret its movement and its meaning. When we dive into a submerged ocean we may discover treasure, or a fallen ship, or a cache of ancient artifacts.
The most common symbolic value associated with the ocean is peace. When we explore the deep blue sea, we discover the beauty, majesty and a whole host of other treasures that we may choose to dwell upon. If we can discover more about the hidden layers of the ocean, we may be able to utilise this to our advantage by using it to create peace and harmony within ourselves. We may then use the ocean to heal our minds, bodies and spirits.
As you can see, dream interpretation and the associated techniques are fascinating and fun to do. It also helps to provide some entertainment for yourself while you study. You may think that you’re studying, but in fact you’re having so much fun that you may forget about your studies. It’s just one of those things. Enjoy!
